The short version

Privacy at Hibachi K and Sushi

This website has no accounts, no logins, no shopping cart and no advertising. It measures how its own pages are used so the restaurant can make them better, and it does not sell, rent or share that information with anyone. The one place it asks for anything about you is the job application form, and that section is below.

What this site records

Every page here sends a small amount of information back to Hibachi K and Sushi about how that page was used. All of it is about the page, not about you:

  • Which page was opened, and when.
  • The website you arrived from, reduced to its name, so “google.com” or “instagram.com”, never the full address you came from.
  • Your city, state and country, worked out from the network you connect through.
  • Whether the screen is a phone, a tablet or a computer, and how wide it is.
  • How many seconds the page was actually in front of you, and how far down it you read.
  • Whether you tapped one of the ordering links, the phone number, the directions, or the Instagram or TikTok link, but not what you did after that, on somebody else’s site.

What it does not record

Your name, your email address, your phone number and your IP address are not stored. Your IP address is used in passing to work out roughly which city you are in and to keep the site online, in the way every website must; the address itself never reaches our records. Nothing here follows you to other websites, and there is no advertising network involved at any point.

Our own measurement sets no cookies. It keeps a random string in your browser’s tab memory so that several pages read in one sitting count as one visit rather than five. It is discarded the moment you close the tab, it never leaves this website, and it cannot recognise you tomorrow.

Other companies this site touches

  • Our hosting provider serves every page and handles the connection your browser makes to reach it.
  • Google Maps supplies the map on the location page. Your browser loads that map directly from Google, so Google sees the request in the same way it would if you had opened Maps yourself.
  • Toast and DoorDash take the orders. The moment you tap through to one of them you are on their website, under their terms and their privacy policies, and anything you enter there, such as your name, address or card, is theirs and not ours.

The typefaces on this site are served from our own domain, so no font provider is contacted while you read it.

Calling, emailing and ordering

When you call (919) 295-4003 or write to hibachiksushi@gmail.com, the restaurant keeps what you send only for as long as it takes to answer you, to prepare and deliver an order, or to consider you for a job you applied for. It is not added to a mailing list and it is not passed to anyone else.

Applying for a job

The form on the careers page is the one part of this site that asks for information about you rather than about the page. It is also the only thing here stored against your name, so it is worth setting out in full.

What the form sends to the restaurant:

  • Your name, phone number and email address.
  • Which job you are applying for, and which shifts you could work.
  • The earliest date you could start, if you give one.
  • Whether you are 18 or older.
  • Whether you are legally authorized to work in the United States. We ask about authorization and never about citizenship, and we do not ask where you were born or what status you hold.
  • Whether you have been convicted of a felony, and your own explanation if you choose to give one. A conviction does not automatically rule anyone out. It is read alongside what the offence was, how long ago it was, and whether it bears on the job.
  • Where you have worked before, and anything else you choose to tell us. Both are optional.

It goes into a database only the restaurant can open. It is not shown to anyone outside the restaurant, not sold, not shared, and not used for anything except deciding whether to call you. It is kept for 1 year and then deleted.

Do not send documents. The form has nowhere to attach a file and asks for no ID, passport, visa or social security number. Work authorization is checked in person after a job is offered, which is when it is supposed to happen and the only time it should.

Ask us to delete your application at any time, before or after we call. Write to hibachiksushi@gmail.com or ring (919) 295-4003 and it will be removed. You do not have to give a reason, and asking will not affect an application you would like to keep open.

Asking us to remove something

Apart from a job application, nothing collected here identifies a person, so there is generally no record of you to find or delete. Applications are the exception and are covered above. If you have written to the restaurant and want that correspondence removed, ask at hibachiksushi@gmail.com and it will be.

Children

This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If what the site collects ever changes, this page changes with it. Last updated August 29, 2026.
